Terms and Conditions

Last updated: July 2026

This document was not drafted by a lawyer and does not constitute legal advice.

1. What Semnal is

Semnal (semnal.cloud) is an automatic web accessibility checking tool, based on axe-core, that identifies issues under the WCAG 2.1 AA standard.

2. No guarantee of legal compliance

Reports generated by Semnal only show issues detectable automatically — roughly 30–40% of real accessibility criteria. A "clean" report (no issues found) does not constitute and does not guarantee compliance with the European Accessibility Act or any other legislation. Manual testing with keyboard, screen reader, and potentially specialized legal advice remain necessary for a complete assessment.

3. Limitation of liability

Semnal is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We are not responsible for any penalties, fines, or losses resulting from relying exclusively on reports generated by this tool, or from service interruptions.

4. Your account

5. Acceptable use

You may not:

6. Intellectual property

The source code, design, text, and the "Semnal" mark belong to me (Ion, the person operating the service) and are protected under copyright law, which applies automatically without any need for registration (Berne Convention, also valid within the European Union). You may not copy, decompile, extract the source code, or recreate the Semnal platform (code, design, interface) without my written consent.

The reports generated for you (PDF, CSV export, accessibility statement) belong to you, and you may use and distribute them freely — including to your own clients, as proof of the audit performed — since they are generated based on your site, for your purpose.

7. Availability

We don't guarantee 100% service availability. On the free hosting plan, the server may have brief restart periods after inactivity.

8. Changes

We may update these terms at any time; the date above reflects the latest version. Continued use of the service after a change means acceptance of the new terms.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by Italian law.
